Body:Light brown with silvery-white and black horizontal stripes.Grows to about 3".Always active.

Sexing:Female rounder with bigger stomach.Male is skinnier.

Breeding:Zebra Danio usually stay with one female their whole life.To help them breed change 25 percent of the water frequently and turn the temperature up to 80 degrees F(27 C).Zebra Danio are egg-scatterers and may eat their eggs.To prevent this, put a layer of marbles in a breeding tank. When the eggs fall through the cracks in the marbles, the parents can't get to them.Wait a couple hours after they lay their eggs then remove the parents. The eggs will hatch within 1-3 days. The babie zebra danio stick themselves to a wall after they're born.Feed the babies baby food or finely crushed flake food.

Special Info:The zebra danio has been made into Glofish in a laboratory.

Comments:I have 6 zebra danio in a 10 gallon tank with some other fish. They are always lively and hard to get pictures of.In their tank ,I put a layer of brown marbles just in case they lay eggs. These fish are great for starters.
